How about a quick little podcast on the Padres day off?

Patrick and I were itching to talk some Padre baseball, so we fired up the old podcast machine and gave it a whirl.

We started out talking about, of all things, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team from up north has played remarkable so far this season, and we discuss how they are also built for the long run. Not exactly what you want to hear, but its the unfortunate truth. As Padres fans, we need them to deplete their farm system.

We discuss some of the potential moves teams failed to make this trade market, and of course Brad Hand is discussed once again by the both of us. What is his value and can it increase with him in the closers role for the rest of the 2017 season?

The minor leagues are talked about briefly, as Jacob Nix has been promoted to San Antonio. He joins a pretty decent staff there and will likely be part of the playoff run for the team. Javier Guerra is hitting and the short stop and his future is debating by the two gamset of us. Perhaps he needed the challenge of Double-A to get motivated.

That leads into a discussion about promoting Austin Allen and if it is time for the backstop to join the Missions. He continues to rake and it seems he is ready for the jump. The team from Texas is going to play in the Double-A playoffs, so perhaps its time to get these young pups a taste of the playoff life.

We want to thank Original Grain watches for sponsoring the show. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. .
