Xolos Femenil will play its last game in the 2018 Apertura Liga MX Femenil season this Monday at the Estadio Caliente against Puebla.

The Club Tijuana Ladies are on a five-game losing streak and will try and win their first game since July 30.

Andrea Rodebaugh has some talented players, but many are very young, like 17-year-old Karen Maprigat, 16-year-old Layzha Garcia, and Valentina Oviedo, who is the daughter of Xolos’ manager Franky Oviedo. Veteran striker Inglis Hernandez still leads the team with four goals scored and will need to step it up, along with goalkeeper Itzel Gonzalez, who can also make an impact.

Las Rojinegras lost 3-1 against Cruz Azul last week and should struggle against one of the most in-form teams in the Liga MX Femenil, even with the home-field advantage. The border city club has not won in its last five home games and it will be difficult to get a win against a worthy opponent.

Puebla has not lost a game since August 12 and is on an incredible nine-game unbeaten streak. La Franja has won its last two games and has not allowed any goals in these two games either, coming off a 3-0 win against Cruz Azul. Mariela Jimenez is the main player to watch on Puebla as she leads the team with seven goals scored this season.

This is a must-win game for Puebla as Rogelio Martinez’s team is five points out of a playoff spot with just two games left to play. Las Camoteras are fifth in Group 1 of the Liga MX Femenil with 21 points and have had a stellar debut season in this league.

Based on Tijuana’s terrible form and Puebla’s amazing run, EVT predicts a 2-1 win for the visiting team at the Estadio Caliente on Monday night.
