It was a productive week for USMNT players abroad this week with plenty of significant players across European leagues. There were a few that made an impact on the scoreboard, but the low point was Taylor Booth’s injury, as the 22-year-old was seen in crutches after coming out in just the 22nd minute in Utrecht’s 1-0 win against Twente in the Eredivisie. Chivas’ Cade Cowell was also absent for his team in their visit to Mazatlan, as he was suffering from a minor illness.

Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah

Christian Pulisic provided a spectacular performance off the bench in AC Milan’s heartbreaking 4-2 loss to Monza in the Italian Serie A. Milan manager Stefano Pioli benched Pulisic and other key players, as he seemed a bit overconfident in this visit to Monza. The USMNT captain came on in the second half, assisted Olivier Giroud’s goal that made it a 2-1 game, and then tied the game with a goal of his own in the 88th minute. When the game seemed to be going in Milan’s favor, Monza appeared with two goals to crush the Italian giants for the first time in their history. Yunus Musah also came on in the 83rd minute for AC Milan but failed to make much of an impact in limited time.

Josh Sargent

Sargent scored two goals in Norwich’s dominant 4-1 win over Cardiff City and extended his scoring streak to four games now. Sargent now has six goals scored in his last six games and is up to 10 goals in this Championship season.

Chris Richards

Richards now has a new manager at Crystal Palace, as Roy Hodgson stepped down from his post this week. Former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner will step in, as the interim head coach for the 1-1 draw against Everton over the weekend was Paddy McCarthy. This was an important game between two teams fighting relegation in this Premier League season, and the point from the game, considering it was played in Liverpool, was not a bad result for Crystal Palace. Richards played the full 90 minutes and put in a shift with eight clearances in the hard-fought match at Goodison Park.

Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream

Robinson and Ream started in Fulham’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa over the weekend, and Robinson was even able to get an assist in this match. It was quite an impressive cross put in by “Jedi,” as he won a physical duel with Villa defender Matty Cash to get the assist on the goal. Ream was subbed off in the 76th minute of the match, while Robinson played the full 90 in this tough loss for Fulham.

Brenden Aaronson

Aaronson scored the game-winner off the bench for Union Berlin in their 1-0 win against Hoffenheim in this Matchday 22 bout in the German Bundesliga. Union Berlin continues to struggle this season, as it is possible to see Aaronson receive more playing time in the coming weeks.

Sergino Dest, Ricardo Pepi, and Malik Tillman

All three American players at PSV Eindhoven started in the Dutch Giants’ 2-0 win over Heracles. Sergino Dest and Malick Tillman provided a lot of creativity going forward for PSV, as Tillman came away with an assist on Olivier Boscagli’s goal. Ricardo Pepi had plenty of goalscoring opportunities but was unable to take advantage of any of them, as he failed to score in this match.

Johnny Cardoso

Johnny played the full 90 minutes in Real Betis’ 0-0 draw against Deportivo Alaves in Matchday 25 of the Spanish La Liga. The 22-year-old midfielder seems to have fit in perfectly in this Real Betis side and has now started six consecutive games in all competitions for Los Verdiblancos.

Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah

Mckennie played the entire match in Juventus’ disappointing 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona, while Weah came off the bench in the 82nd minute of that clash. McKennie had some decent defensive work and a couple of key passes but failed to make much of an impact in this match.

Other performances

Luca De La Torre played the full 90 minutes in Celta de Vigo’s 2-1 loss to Barcelona, but he failed to generate much offense for his team. Lennard Maloney played the complete game in Heidenheim’s 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen, this was a very tough match against the top Bundesliga side. Joe Scally had a rough game, playing 59 minutes in Borussia Monchengladbach’s 2-0 loss to RB Leipzig.

Folarin Balogun’s struggles have continued in the Ligue 1, as he was ineffective in AS Monaco’s 2-1 loss against Toulouse. Ethan Horvath also had a rough day in net for Cardiff City as he allowed four goals, including two from Josh Sargent, in Cardiff’s 4-1 loss to Norwich City.

Auston Trusty came on for Sheffield United in the 30th minute after a red card to Mason Holgate, and he did not have the best performance in the 5-0 loss to Brighton.

Over in the Liga MX, Brandon Vazquez only played 10 minutes in Monterrey’s scoreless draw against Tolucan after scoring in the CONCACAF Champions League against Comunicaciones. Alejandro Zendejas played the entire 90 minutes in Club America’s 2-1 loss against Pachuca and had a very rough game, losing possession of the ball 22 times.
