In this 12th edition of the Padres EVT Podcast we bring you Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune. He talks to us fresh off the Padres 7-0 loss in their first Cactus League game of the season.

Dennis as a beat writer for the San Diego Padres has vast knowledge of the team that only a few media personalities have. He travels with the team from city to city and will be with these players for the next seven months. We were excited to talk to him and pick his brain about the team and the direction they are headed.

Of course we talk about the difference in the team from this season to 2015. We ask Dennis about Andy Green and his feelings on what he brings to the table. More specifically the fact Green seems to give more candid responses rather than use a lot of clichés like former Padres manager Bud Black was famous for. Dennis has some interesting things to say about the new Padres skipper.

Dennis is a USC graduate and this will be his third full season covering the Padres since taking over for San Diego Sports legend Bill Center. Dennis is asked about the Craig Kimbrel trade and the bounty of players the Padres received in return.

The Padres 2016 squad is evaluated as is the chances of the Rule-5 guys making the team. Dennis has had the opportunity to get a first look at each of the four players and it is great to hear his opinion on the matter.

We wish to thank Dennis for his time. He is really busy this time of year and we were lucky enough to speak with him briefly. We look forward to future podcasts with Dennis in an effort to keep you the fans up to date on everything Padres.
