The minor league affiliates for the San Diego Padres went 3-2 on Sunday.

Here’s a recap of the day’s action.

El Paso Chihuahuas (50-40) Won 15-6

The only batter in the lineup to not record a hit was center fielder Auston Bousfield. Five batters logged multiple hits including; Forrestt Allday, Franmil Reyes, Raffy Lopez, Javy Guerra, and Dusty Coleman. Dusty Coleman (9) and Raffy Lopez (8) each hit a home run. Colin Rea struggles with his command as he walked six in five innings. Caleb Boushley made the jump from Fort Wayne and pitched an inning in his Triple-A debut. Forrestt Allday has been red hot over his last 10 games. He’s batting .512 (21-for-41) with two home runs and three stolen bases. Allday has scored 14 runs and drove in nine runs in that time. Luis Urias is 15-for-40 (.375) with 10 walks and 12 strikeouts in his last 10 starts. Franmil Reyes is sporting a .432 OBP in 236 Triple-A plate appearances. Javy Guerra notched two hits and raised his OBP to .239 in 289 plate appearances for El Paso. Dusty Coleman has three home runs in his last 10 games.

San Antonio Missions (52-35) Won 4-1

The only run Cal Quantrill allowed was on a wild pitch. Quantrill threw a season high 104 pitches and reached the 100-pitch threshold for the fourth time this season. Andres Munoz saved his first game in the Texas League and has yet to allow a run through his first four appearances. After two consecutive days off, Fernando Tatis Jr. had a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the 7th to give the Missions the lead. He now has an 11-game hitting streak and is batting .432 (19-for-44) with four home runs and four stolen bases in that time. Matthew Batten has started seven of eight games so far in July. His only day off was game 1 of the doubleheader on the 5th.

Edward Olivares is batting .333 (14-for-42) with one home run and two stolen bases over his last 10 games. Olivares also recorded an assist by throwing a runner out at second base. Hudson Potts had multiple hits for the fourth time in his last five games but was charged with his 12th error on the season. Jorge Ona is struggling at the plate as he has just four hits in his last 37 at-bats (.108). Emmanuel Ramirez received his 9th start on the season, he has appeared in 13 games as a reliever. Elliot Ashbeck lowered his ERA to 1.89 on the year and has a career 2.01 ERA in 120.2 innings in the minors. Blake Rogers dropped his ERA to 2.85 across 41 innings in 2018.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (43-44) Lost 4-3

Robbie Podorsky is batting .462 (18-for-39) with more walks (6) than strikeouts (5) and five stolen bases in his last 10 games. He’s now slashing .364/.417/.483 in 143 at-bats for Fort Wayne and also threw a runner out at second base during today’s game. Esteury Ruiz is 0-11 in his last 3 games with one walk and five strikeouts. Luis Campusano is batting .186 (8-for-43) with one walk and seven strikeouts in his last 10 games. Kevin Melean made his Fort Wayne debut after starting the year with Lake Elsinore. With Ruddy Giron back from his rehab, Melean was the odd-man out. Gabriel Arias continues to scuffle, he’s batting .147 (5-for-34) with three walks and 12 strikeouts in his last 10 games. Jack Suwinski hit his 5th home run in 2018. Olivier Basabe hit his second home run on the season to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Luis Asuncion continues to scuffle as he is hitless in his last 16 at-bats with five strikeouts. Tre Carter is having his own struggles and is 4-for-31 (.129) with 16 strikeouts in his last 10 games. Angel Acevedo made his fourth start on the year and twirled a six-inning gem. Over his last 3 starts they’ve pulled him around 75 pitches. Dan Dallas lowered his ERA to 0.66 on the year and has an incredible 22 strikeouts in 12.2 innings of work.
