Xolos Femenil Look To Keep Undefeated Streak Going Against Toluca Away From Home

The Xolos women’s team will play their week 10 matchup in the Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2018 this Monday when the border city team travels to the Estadio Nemesio Diez to face Toluca.
Xolos Femenil has been playing very well recently, currently on a three-game unbeaten streak, and will look to extend that with a result from this match. Club Tijuana is coming off an impressive 0-0 tie against Pumas UNAM at the Estadio Caliente, and its defensive game is what has stood out recently.
Andrea Rodebaugh’s team has not allowed a goal in its last two games, with goalkeeper Itzel Gonzalez also coming up clutch recently. The offense has only scored a goal in the last three games, but it has looked a lot more fluid with a striker like Arlina Montes now in the starting lineup.
Montes, 23, clearly has more experience than some of the other forwards on the team and can be a very dangerous player going forward. The Xoloitzcuintles are still in penultimate place in Group 1 of the Liga MX Femenil, currently with six points, but could move to sixth with a win in this match.
Toluca is one of the top teams in the Liga MX Femenil, currently second in Group 1 of the Clausura 2018 with 20 points. Las Diablas did get the better of the Xolos when they played at the Estadio Caliente in Week 3, coming away with a 2-1 win. Toluca is undefeated in its last two games, a 1-0 win versus Cruz Azul being its latest result. Las Diablas strong suit is in the attack, with players like Zaira Miranda and Natalia Mauleon.
The two have scored seven goals this season between them and will need to be marked tightly by Xolos’ defense, Mauleon especially, who is one of the better strikers in the league at just 16 years old. Toluca has a better squad and will have the vital home-field advantage, which should result in a victory for Las Diablas.
EVT predicts a slim 1-0 win for Toluca with a solid performance by Xolos Femenil, but not enough to come away with any points from the game.
