Tumi Moshobane earns Second Team of the Week honor
Tumi Moshobane is putting together a great season for the San Diego Loyal. With a goal and an assist in last week’s victory over Rio Grande Valley, Moshobane once again inserts his name onto the Team of the Week.
It’s no question that the South African native is a vital part of the Loyal’s success not only this season but in the past three years. His presence in the midfield is important as it puts pressure on the opponents. Moshobane has the ability to score goals and is elite with possession. He puts the defenders on their toes, and he once again gets the recognition for his play.
If you have attended a match at Torero Stadium or even on the road, you notice his speed immediately. He has that advantage over the opponent’s midfielders, and it allows for him to create chances quicker than normal.

It’s safe to say that manager Landon Donovan is comfortable with Moshobane playing alongside another offensive midfielder in Alejandro Guido.

This is Moshobane’s second honor of the season. He also earned TOTW honors back on April 5 against El Paso Locomotive. This marks the second honor of the month for the Loyal as Guido also earned an honor back on July 5.
SD Loyal now heads into its next match, a Western Conference affair against Orange County SC on Saturday, July 30 (7 p.m.) at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, Calif.
