The San Diego Padres had several players in action throughout the globe on Thursday.

Here is a recap of the day’s events.

Dominican Winter League

Manuel Margot– (1-5) 2B, Run, 2 K

Batting leadoff and playing centerfield, Margot went 1-for-5 with a double. He is hitting .143 on the year for the Toros de Este.

Ivan Castillo– (0-4)

Castillo went 0-for-4 on Thursday and is hitting .261 on the season. He played third base in the game and has performed all over the diamond for the Leones.

Franchy Cordero– (2-4) 2B, Run, RBI, K

Cordero doubled in four at-bats in the Dominican Republic. He recorded an outfield assist in the game. The left-handed hitter played centerfield and was batting cleanup for the Leones de Esgogido. He needs to stay healthy, and a positive showing in the D.R. would go a long way towards providing the outfielder with some confidence.

Webster Rivas– (0-3) RBI, K

The catcher went 0-for-3 and is hitting .152 on the season now in the Dominican Republic.

Puerto Rican Winter League

Michael Gettys– (0-4) 3 K

Gettys has been in a slump and is down to .194 on the season in Puerto Rico. He struck out three times in the game and played rightfield for the Indios de Mayaguez. He is still struggling bad with making contact and will need to get better to have any chance of a major league career.

Mexican Winter League

Esteban Quiroz– (1-4) BB, Run, K

Quiroz was batting in the cleanup position and went 1-for-4 with a walk in the game. He is hitting .333 on the year for the Caneros de Mochis

Australian Baseball League

Homza played catcher for the Auckland Tuatara on Thursday night/Friday morning. He went 0-for-3 in the game and is hitting .200 (6-for-30) on the season with a .639 OPS. The right-handed hitter has also played some third base this season.
