Peoria lost 9-2 to Salt River, and has lost two in a row for the first time this season.

The Javelinas (9-6 overall) are currently holding first place down in the AFL Western Division, with a three-game lead over the Surprise Saguaros.

There were plenty of minor leaguers in action on Friday. Here is a look at the day’s action:

Arizona Fall League

Hudson Potts– (0-4) 4 K

The third baseman had a very rough day at the plate, striking out all four times he went to bat. Potts continues to struggle from time to time making contact and has now struck out 16 times in 45 at-bats in the desert. He is hitting .222 so far with two homers and has put up a .722 OPS for Peoria.

Travis Radke– 3.2 IP, 3 H, 4 K (53 pitches- 35 strikes)

The lefty is at a 3.00 ERA in his time with the Javelinas. He has struck out 12 batters in nine innings while allowing six walks and 10 hits.

Mexican winter league

Adrian Martinez– 2.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 2 K

21-year-old right-hander Adrian Martinez was touched up for two earned runs in Mexico.

Venezuelan winter league

Gabriel Arias– (1-3)

Arias continues to play on most days in Venezuela and is off to a .273 start for the Tiburones de La Guaira.

Edward Olivares– (1-3) Run, RBI, BB

Batting in the nine-hole, Olivares was productive for the Tigres de Aragua. He is off to a .286 start on his year in Venezuela.

Dominican winter league

Eric Yardley– 1 IP, 2 H, BB, K (10 pitches- 6 strikes)

The sidearm-throwing, right-handed pitcher still has a 0.00 ERA in his first five games in the D.R. He has been impressive and looks to possibly be a factor in the Padres’ bullpen in 2019.
