The San Diego Padres’ season is over, but we will still continue to bring you content.
Game two of the World Series was amazing for the sport of baseball. The contest between the Astros and Dodgers will be an all-time classic game that fans will speak about for years. It could not have happened at a better time for the sport as the game was on a slow Wednesday night. Most everyone witnessed the contest.
For this week’s show, we bring in A.J. Cassavell. The three of us first reflect on game 2 of the World Series, as A.J. gives us his thoughts.
We then discuss the state of the San Diego Padres.
A.J. gives us a quick reflection of the 2017 season in which he names some of the players who stepped up, and those who disappointed. This topic led into a long talk about Wil Myers. As the team’s most recognizable figure, it is normal to discuss him religiously. The first baseman is dissected a bit, as all three of us give our thoughts on his struggles. A.J. brings up some excellent points that are well worth a listen.
Dinelson Lamet, Jose Pirela, and Carlos Asuaje were surprises in the 2017 season, as the team overachieved a bit. A.J gives us some insight on the three and we also talk about Andy Green and his extension.
The left field job is up in the air and we discuss the candidates. Pirela, Travis Jankowski, Franchy Cordero, and Alex Dickerson are all possibilities. Matt Szczur is also a possible answer as he came on and was productive at the end of the 2017 season.
The 2018 rotation is a topic we hit on and we briefly discuss the new hitting coach job that has opened up for the Padres.
Thank you for the listen and please let us know if you have and questions, comments, or concerns.
