With three minor league teams getting a day off, only the El Paso Chihuahuas played on Monday.

Here is a quick recap of the day’s action.

El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost Game 7-2 to Skeeters) (8-8 on the season)

MacKenzie Gore: 3 IP, H, 5 BB, 4 K (No Decision)

Nick Ramirez: IP, 2 H, 2 R (0 ER), 2 K

Chase Johnson: IP, 4 H, 4 R, BB, K

John Andreoli: 1-4, HR, R, RBI, 2 K

Gosuke Katoh: 1-4, HR, R, RBI, K

First, the good news. Gore pitched his first scoreless outing this season while striking out four.

The bad? He only pitched three innings. And walked five batters.

Not a promising look for the top prospect who has been battling command issues since last year. However, it is only his fourth start in Triple-A, and he is still building himself back up, so he will be allowed a longer leash to figure out his issues.

As for the game itself, Sugar Land pounced on Ramirez for two runs in the fourth inning, and Nick Scholtens allowed a solo home run in the fifth inning. Back-to-back home runs by Andreoli and Katoh brought El Paso closer, but a four-run eighth inning for the Skeeters put a ribbon on the game.

El Paso Chihuahuas (8-8 on the season)

Game 2 between the El Paso Chihuahuas and Sugar Land Skeeters was postponed for a later date.

San Antonio Missions (7-11 on the season)

The Missions were off today as they travel to Arkansas to face the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Osvaldo Hernandez will get the start for the Missions.

Lake Elsinore Storm (8-8 on the season)
