The ACL Padres won 5-4 as the bullpen held the lead against the ACL Mariners. Braian Salazar started the game and the 18-year-old pitched well, throwing four innings of baseball without allowing an earned run. Salazar is a lefty out of Valenzuela with a good fastball but is currently battling through control issues. Henry Martinez threw two shutout innings and earned the win for the Padres. Maikel Miralles picked up his third save of the season as he recorded the last three outs of the game.

Carlos Rodriguez led the team with two hits including the game-winner in the 6th on a single that plated two runs for the Padres. Rodriguez is a 21-year-old catcher out of Venezuela who is in his third season of pro ball. Spence Coffman went 1-for-3 and Yendry Rojas scored a run and walked in two at-bats. Lamar King Jr., another catcher in the system, went 1-for-3 and is showing he is healthy (shoulder). A promotion to Lake Elsinore could be in the cards for the backstop.
