Padres Down on the Farm: June 15 (France ties consecutive HR record for El Paso/Miller & Kohlwey homer in Amarillo win)
Ty France homered in his fifth straight game while Taylor Kohlwey homered twice for Amarillo.
The minor league affiliates went 2-4 today.

El Paso Chihuahuas Lost 11-3 (42-26 on the season)
Ty France homered for the fifth game in a row, tying an El Paso record, but it wasn’t enough to get El Paso the win as the team lost their third straight game. Kyle McGrath and Eric Yardley combined for five innings and ten runs, but only six of those runs were earned as the team committed four errors in the first two innings. Jason Vosler hit a pinch-hit solo home run in the fifth inning, and France got his dinger in the sixth inning, but the damage caused in the early innings was too much for El Paso to overcome.

Amarillo Sod Poodles Won 11-6 (32-34 on the season)
The Sod Poodles got half of their offense from Owen Miller and Taylor Kohlwey while the bullpen weathered a six-run storm in the seventh inning. Amarillo jumped out to a 9-0 lead through six innings as Miller got the offense going with an RBI single in the first inning. Miller and Kohlwey went deep in the fifth inning, and Kyle Overstreet capped the rally with a run-scoring single. However, Emmanuel Ramirez and Jean Cosme got hammered in the seventh as two home runs were crushed to bring the score to 9-6, but it would be the only runs scored by the Drillers.

Lake Elsinore Storm Lost 8-2 (34-33 on the season)
Reiss Knehr and Seth Blair got rocked by the Quakes for 3.2 innings for a combined seven runs total and three home runs, while the offense struggled to make any kind of noise against Rancho Cucamonga. Esteury Ruiz and Gabriel Arias both cracked RBI doubles in the third inning to make the score 3-2 at the time, but it was the closest they would get. Franklin Van Gurp allowed a run in three innings of relief, and the Storm got one last run in the ninth inning. As a team, Lake Elsinore went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position while they struck out ten times over the game.

Fort Wayne TinCaps Lost 7-4 (32-35 on the season)
The TinCaps snapped a four-game winning streak with their 7-4 loss. Efrain Contreras allowed four runs to score in just 2.2 innings of work, while the Fort Wayne bullpen surrender three runs of their own. Fort Wayne’s offense struggled as well as they went a mere 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position. The only source of offense came from a two-run double off the bat of Juan Fernandez, an Agustin Ruiz sacrifice fly, and a fielding error courtesy of the Captains.

Tri-City Dust Devils Lost 7-3 (0-2 on the season)
It took until the ninth inning, but the Dust Devils finally scored their first run of the season on a balk that allowed Jordy Barley to score. Nick Gatewood drove in two more in the ninth with a two-RBI double, but that made the score 7-3. Ignacio Feliz, acquired from the Indians for Walker Lockett, got stung by errors as he allowed five runs in 4.2 innings, but only one of those runs were earned. Matthew Acosta, Jason Pineda, and Gatewood both had multi-hit games for the Dust Devils.

DSL Padres Won 9-5 (8-5 on the season)
A balanced offensive attack and timely pitching led the DSL Padres to victory. The Padres got four runs in the first two innings, one in the fifth, and four again in the seventh and eighth innings. As a team, they went 7-for-14 with runners in scoring position. Jose Garcia pitched five innings and allowed two runs while Jesus Lugo allowed three runs in three innings of work.
