San Diego Padres affiliates went 2-5 on Monday.
The El Paso Chihuahuas are off early this week as the Triple-A All-Star Game is taking place in the city. Ty France competed in the Home Run Derby on Monday but was ousted in the semi-finals by the eventual winner Yasmany Tomas of the D-backs.

Amarillo Sod Poodles (42-44) Lost 5-4
Three early runs by Midland were the difference in a 5-4 loss on Monday. Amarillo got one run in the eighth to pull close, but Peter Van Gansen was left stranded at second base in the ninth. Ivan Castillo lined out to left to end the game. Castillo was already 3-for-4 on the night when he made the last out. Jesse Scholtens was charged with the loss and is now 3-4 on the season with a 5.11 ERA. Dauris Valdez threw two scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 5.91 on the year.

Lake Elsinore Storm (44-43) Lost 5-4
The Storm lost in 10 innings by the score of 5-4 on Monday as Franklin Van Gurp was charged with the loss. In the game, three major league players were in action as Cory Seager and A.J. Pollock were playing for the Quakes and Travis Jankowski played for the Storm. Jankowski finished the game 1-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base. Gabe Mosser made his first start in the Cal League and threw six innings of ball, allowing three earned runs. He is an interesting prospect. The 23-year-old had success in the Midwest League but will now face more advanced hitters with the Storm. Eguy Rosario hit his fourth homer of the season in the seventh but grounded out with two men on in the last half of the 10th inning. The Storm rallied for one run in the frame but just came up short.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (39-47) Lost 3-0
Stephen Kolek, Zach Wileman and the Great Lakes Loons shutout the Fort Wayne TinCaps by the score of 3-0 on Monday. The TinCaps only managed five hits in the game. Joey Cantillo started and pitched well, allowing three earned runs in five innings pitched. Left-hander Cody Tyler threw the last three innings for the TinCaps. He did not allow a run and lowered his ERA to 1.86 on the season. Tucupita Marcano hit in the leadoff position and went 2-for-4. Xavier Edwards had the night off.

Tri-City Dust Devils (12-13) Won 6-5
20-year-old Nick Thwaits lowered his ERA to 3.65 on the year after going 5 1/3 innings pitched, allowing three earned runs on eight hits. Deacon Medders was knocked around a bit in relief but did manage a hold by pitching 1 2/3 innings. Tom Colletti earned a save by pitching the last two innings. He struck out five batters and has a 1.88 ERA on the year in Washington. Mason House got his first homer of the season in the win. The Dust Devils stole five bases in the game, led by Jordy Barley who stole two from the leadoff position.

AZL Padres 1 (11-6) Lost 7-1
The Rangers AZL team beat the Padres AZL 1 squad by the score of 7-1 on Monday. Left-handed pitcher Jesus Gonzalez made a start and went five innings pitched, allowing five earned runs. The 18-year-old from Venezuela has a 5.29 ERA now in the desert. Seth Mayberry pitched a scoreless inning, of relief. Koty Fallon and Dylan Coleman each gave up a run in their inning of work. The AZL 1 team only managed six hits in the game. Catcher Brandon Valenzuela led the way with a 2-for-3 day at the plate. CJ Abrams went 1-for-4, and Chris Givin went 0-for-3 in the loss.

AZL Padres 2 (12-5) Lost 8-2
The AZL White Sox scored seven early runs on the way to an 8-2 victory over the AZL Padres 2 team. Left-handed pitcher Alexuan Vega started the game and went 3 2/3 innings pitched for the Padres. He allowed four runs and struck out four in the game. The 20-year-old Puerto Rican pitcher now has a 10.32 ERA on the season. Emmanuel Guerra hit his second homer of the season in the third inning. The 18-year-old, right-handed hitter from Venezuela has a 1.148 OPS early in the season. The AZL Padres 2 team struck out 13 times in the game on Monday, led by Christian Heredia who went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts.

DSL Padres (15-17) Won 4-3
The DSL Padres won 4-3 over the DSL D-backs on Monday. Six-foot-seven right-handed pitcher Abismael Paulino toed the rubber and went 4 2/3 innings for the Padres. The 22-year-old is not a real huge prospect in the system but could advance to the desert if he continues to progress. 17-year-old Euribiel Angeles recorded two more hits and has a .799 OPS so far in the DSL. The infielder is a decent looking prospect in the system.
