The San Diego Padres minor league affiliates went 1-1 on Monday, with just the DSL Padres and the ACL Padres in action.

 

El Paso Chihuahuas (Off Day) (59-45 on the season)

The Chihuahuas will start a series with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys on Tuesday. 

 

San Antonio Missions (Off Day) (52-48 on the season)

The Missions will start a series with the Frisco Roughriders on Tuesday.

 

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Off Day) (44-58 on the season)

The TinCaps will start a series with the Lake County Captains on Tuesday.

 

Lake Elsinore Storm (Off Day) (61-41 on the season)

The Storm will start a series with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Tuesday.

 

DSL Padres (Lost 21-7 to DSL BAL Black in 12 innings) (29-18 on the season)

The Padres and Orioles played an exciting game until the 12th inning, when the Padres surrendered 14 runs in the top of the frame. Angel Garza started for the Padres, allowing one run in four solid innings, but the Orioles scored three runs off Josmar Acevedo in the sixth, putting the Orioles ahead. Yendry Rojas brought Alain Camou home to tie the game in the fifth, as part of Rojas’ four hits on the day. Baltimore scored twice in the eleventh, but the Padres answered with a single and a sacrifice fly to send the game to the 12th. 17 batters came to the plate for the Orioles, 14 of them scored, and the Orioles comfortably won in blowout fashion.

 

ACL Padres (Won 11-9 vs. ACL Royals) (23-21 on the season)

Javier Chacon: 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R (2 ER), 1 BB, 8 K 

Juan Murillo: (3-for-4), 2 R, SB

Graham Pauley: (2-for-5), 3B, 2B, 4 RBI, R, K

Jakob Marsee: (2-for-5), 2B, 3 R, 2 K

The Padres used a six run eighth inning to vault their way to a Monday night victory. Javier Chacon worked five innings, striking out eight batters, and allowing two earned runs in the process. Graham Pauley tripled and doubled, driving in four runs in the process. His tie-breaking three-run triple in the eighth broke open the game, putting the Padres ahead for good. Jakob Marsee scored three times in the win, and Reinier Parra managed to close out the game in the ninth. The Padres had a remarkable 21 opportunities with runners in scoring position, taking advantage of five of them.
