Here is a recap of the day’s events.

El Paso Chihuahuas (OFF) (34-48 on the season)

San Antonio Missions (Won 13-4 over Midland) (39-46 on the season)

RF Esteury Ruiz – 3-for-4, 2 2B, 3 R, 3 RBI, BB

CF Agustin Ruiz – 3-for-5, 2B, 3-run HR, 3 R, 7 RBI

C Chandler Seagle – 1-for-2, 3 R, 2B, 2 HBP

The Missions’ offense stole the show on Wednesday night, scoring 13 runs on an impressive showing throughout the lineup in a 13-4 victory. All but one player had at least one hit for San Antonio, while four had multi-hit games. Esteury Ruiz and Agustin Ruiz both had three hits for the Missions.

The scoring started off early, with San Antonio posting a six-run second inning. They followed that up in the third inning with four runs, which at the time gave them a 10-1 lead. They would score three more in the fifth, giving them their 13 runs in only three innings.

Adrian Martinez was brilliant on the mound for the Missions, going six innings with seven strikeouts while only allowing one run.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 5-1 to South Bend) (40-46 on the season)

LF Grant Little – 1-for-3, R, K

1B Luis Almanzar – 1-for-1, RBI

2B-3B Ethan Skender – 1-for-2, 2 BB

SP Noel Vela – 5 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 6 K, 2 BB

Noel Vela gave the TinCaps a strong outing Wednesday night, going five innings and only allowing one unearned run. It was not enough, however, as Fort Wayne was only able to score one run in the bottom of the eighth inning in what turned out to be a 5-1 loss.

The eighth inning run cut the South Bend lead to 2-1 at the time, but the Cubs were able to push across three in the top of the ninth to separate themselves, ultimately holding on to that score.

Lake Elsinore Storm (Lost 7-6 to Visalia) (37-48 on the season)

1B Jarryd Dale – 2-for-5, R, RBI, K

2B Charlis Aquino – 3-for-4, 2B, K

RP Luarbert Arias – 2 IP, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K

RP Alek Jacob – 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 3 K

In a back-and-forth affair, the Lake Elsinore Storm fell to Visalia on Wednesday night 7-6.  The Storm took an early 3-0 lead after one inning, and then coughed up their lead in the top of the second, allowing the game to be tied at three. This theme would go on through the top of the seventh when Visalia took a 7-6 lead and held on for the victory.

Robert Hassell III left Wednesday’s game after being hit by a pitch in the first inning. Hassell stayed in the game at the time, scoring on a base hit before eventually being pulled due to the hit-by-pitch. No further news has been announced.
