Padres EVT Podcast: Episode 08 with Robert Murray

This week we are extremely proud to bring you Robert Murray of Both Patrick and I currently write for BBE, so we were lucky enough to know Robert first hand. He is a great guy and has some very interesting comments regarding the Padres. Some stuff that you will definitely want to hear.

The 20-year-old has broken some major stories around the league and has quickly developed a reputation as a quality source for inside information. All though we did not receive any major breaking news from Robert, he does give us a perspective of the team from others within the industry. That in itself can be very valuable.

He speaks of A.J. Preller and how other G.M.’s view him. Really no surprise as Preller has quickly developed a reputation of doing what he wants and not following the norm. Something that is exciting for Padres fans, but yet troubling at the same time.

He dives into the Andy Green hiring as Robert has some connections with the D-Backs organization. Green has quite the reputation and is well liked which is no surprise. Many within the Arizona front office have nothing but kind words about their former employee. The Padres manager will get results.

Rymer Liriano, Matt Kemp, Yasmani Grandal and Cuban phenom Lazaro Armenteros are also discussed. The Padres situation with Kemp is a hot topic as Robert broke a story last week that the Padres and the A’s were discussing a Kemp deal. We ask for more details and Robert tells us exactly what he knows. Very interesting stuff.
