As a way to bring you the San Diego Padres latest and greatest information we here at EVT have developed a podcast. The East Village Times podcast will bring you a weekly glimpse into everything Padres.

In this inaugural episode of the series we bring you a special guest in San Diego Padres 2015 draft pick Austin Smith. He sits down and takes time from his busy schedule to answer some questions from us and talk a little baseball. He also answered a few fan questions that were submitted through Twitter and Facebook.

Austin has a great attitude and is very eager to begin his first full season as a professional baseball player. We ask him about his high school life and his first season as a Padres farm hand. We also ask Austin some Padres trivia and find out a little bit about his relationship with Trea Turner who went to the same High School as Austin.

The Podcast also features a break down of every transaction made by the Padres so far this season. The winter is in full swing and the Padres are still developing their team. There will be more changes and A.J. Preller could have a trick or two up his sleeve.

We plan on a weekly podcast with a ton of Padres talk and some very few special guests. So stay tuned for some exciting new guests and a unique perspective on everything Padres.

We want to thank Austin Smith so much for joining us and also would love to thank you the readers and now listeners. Without any of you all this would definitely not be possible. The podcast is a new format for us to share our enthusiasm about Padres baseball. Please bear with us as it is a work in progress. We welcome any and all criticism as we fine tune the podcast into something that we can be proud of. So without further delay… the inaugural EVT Podcast… enjoy.

  1. Thank you James and Patrick. Fantastic interview of Austin Smith and summation of the off season to this point. I hope you guys keep doing these podcasts.

Smith sounds very down to earth and mature for a guy his age. I love how eager he is to show his stuff next season. I can’t wait for that!

    Thanks again guys.
