The San Diego Padres’ minor league players were limited to a few games on Saturday.

Apologies for the brief report today.

Arizona Fall League

The Arizona Javelinas were off, so Luis Urias, Josh Naylor, and company were not in action. We will have to wait til Sunday to see the Javelinas, who are currently 6-4 on the season, and the only club out of the six in the AFL with a winning record. They currently stand one game ahead of the Glendale Desert Dogs, who are at 5-5 on the year.

Winter League

With Jair Jurrjens on the mound for the Tigres de Leon, Fernando Tatis had the day off, so we will have to wait til Sunday to see the Padres’ prized prospect in action. Tatis sat the bench during the 4-1 victory on Saturday while Gustavo Nunez got the start at short. Here are some who did get in some action on Saturday night.

Fernando Perez went 1-4 with a strikeout on Saturday. His average is at .294 on the season.

Franchy Cordero was batting third again on Saturday and went 1-4 with a run. He is hitting .333 on the season.

Luis Torrens went 0-3 with a walk on Saturday. The catcher is getting some much-needed playing time after riding the bench most of the Padres season.

Diego Goris was 1-4 with a double and a run last night. The third baseman is hitting .250 in the season so far.

Alberth Martinez was 1-3 with a run, a RBI and a walk. He also struck out twice on the night. The outfielder still has some plate discipline issues to work out.

Luis Domoromo went 1-3 with a walk. He is hitting .364 on the season.

Jose Ruiz pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one hit. His ERA is still a perfect 0.00 ERA on the season.
