The San Diego Padres have so much talent in the minor league system currently.

With endless amounts of talent scattered throughout the system, players are participating in Winter Leagues currently.

In total, 11 different players got into game action on the 18th of October. The Padres’ top prospects Fernando Tatis Jr., Luis Urias, Josh Naylor, and Franchy Cordero all played.

Here is a glimpse at Wednesday’s action and what each player did for their respective team.

The Padres system was well-represented.

Peoria Javelinas (Won 6-4) 5-3 overall record

Javier Guerra went 3-5 on the day with a run scored. He struck out in his other two at bats, but the left-handed-hitting shortstop has looked better offensively early in the Arizona Fall League. He is currently hitting .500 on the season and will probably begin the season in San Antonio this spring.

Josh Naylor continued his assault on desert pitching, as he went 2-5 with a double and a run scored. Naylor is hitting .370 so far this season.

Luis Urias went 2-5 on Wednesday with a triple (video below), a run scored, and an RBI. He did strike out twice in the game, which is newsworthy considering his excellent plate discipline. Urias is hitting .375 for the Javelinas.

Jerry Keel threw two scoreless innings, allowing one walk and one hit, maintaining his 0.00 ERA on the season.

Andres Munoz throws fire. He has the ability to be a fast riser through the Padres’ system. Here is some video of the young right-hander.

Winter League Players

Fernando Tatis Jr. hit his first home run of the winter for the Estrellas Orientales. The young shortstop is hitting .250 early in the year after going 1-3 (solo HR) on Wednesday with a walk.

Luis Torrens has played well so far in the Winter. The young backstop went 1-2 on Wednesday night and is hitting .346 on the year.

Franchy Cordero is playing for the Leones Del Escogido and is off to a hot start. He went 2-5 on Wednesday with a stolen base, and his average is at .434 on the season.

Alberth Martinez had two hits on the night, with a double and a run. The outfielder is hitting .276 so far this winter league.

Trevor Frank was roughed up a bit as he allowed two runs on two hits in an inning of relief. His ERA is up to 4.15 on the season.

Eric Yardley continued to be flawless as he went two-thirds of an inning, walking one. His 0.00 ERA is intact.
