The San Diego Padres had a total of eight players in action on Friday.

The Arizona Fall League is a thing of the past, but that does not mean there is no baseball for you to follow.

Excuse the leave of absence with this piece. With the holidays, there has been limited action in all the leagues. I will try to stay on this piece and keep you updated daily on all the Padres prospects. Enjoy.

Australian Winter League

Buddy Reed was 1-4 with a run scored in his last game and is now hitting .250 through his first six games in the Australian Baseball League. The speedy outfielder has shown great defense in center and a progressing bat thus far this year.

Gabriel Arias was 0-4 with a strikeout. The 17-year-old defensive wizard is having a little difficulty in Australia, but that is to be expected because of his limited experience. He has a great future and he is growing every day as a player.

Lake Bachar went six shutout innings, allowing seven hits and striking out three batters. He lowered his ERA to 0.90 on the year.

Dominican Winter League

Franchy Cordero went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. That was his second homer of the year for his Dominican squad. He is hitting .306 on the season and has played all over the outfield on defense.

Mexican Winter League

Fernando Perez is heating up again after a small cold streak. He went 4-5 on Friday with three runs scored and two RBI. He is hitting .348 on the year and has been playing a lot of second base recently for his Mexican squad.

Allen Cordoba just started his winter season. He went 0-2 on Friday with two walks and a strikeout. He is hitting .333 (4-12) on the year in four games. The versatile young man has been playing the outfield for the most part.

Venezuelan Winter League

Jose Ruiz threw a scoreless inning, striking out the side on Friday. He has a 3.29 ERA so far this season.

Trevor Frank went 1.1 innings, allowing one hit. He lowered his ERA to 4.61 on the year.
