Down on the Farm: Winter League Roundup- November 12 (Fernando Tatis Shut Down for the Winter)
The Padres are a team on the rise.
The future is bright in sunny San Diego, as the farm system of this team is developing at a fast pace.
Despite the fact the Peoria Javelinas elected to rest their Padre position players, there were a total of nine Padre’ minor leagues in action around the globe.
Unfortunately for Padre Fans, Fernando Tatis has been shut down by the Padres.
The team has rightfully elected to give the 18-year-old the rest of the winter off. This was his first full season in professional baseball and it was obvious that the young man needed some time away from the game. Tatis had struggled mightily with his defense in the past week or so, committing six errors for his Dominican team.
The rest will do well to energize the young infielder for the spring. He finishes his time in the DR with a .246/.358/.386 batting line in 17 games and 57 at bats.
PEORIA JAVELINAS won 2-1
