The Tijuana Xolos will play their second game in the 2019-2020 Copa MX competition this Tuesday, Aug. 13, as the Aztec Canines travel to the Estadio Corregidora to face Queretaro. The Xoloitzcuintles started off their Copa MX campaign with a 2-0 win against Queretaro at the Estadio Caliente and will now look to get another win, but this time away from home.

Manager Oscar Pareja made several changes to his lineup in that first Copa MX game with a lineup comprised of mostly youngsters and role players. Some of the younger players that received the start include defender Victor Torres, Mexican-American winger Antonio Nava and 19-year-old Tijuana native Luis Gamiz.

Some players that were just brought in this season like Jordan Silva, Fernando Arce Jr. and Jorge Rojas received the start as well. The border city club played well in that first Copa MX game as the victory showcased that this team has depth and solid youngsters within the ranks.

Queretaro also used an alternate squad against Club Tijuana in that match and will do the same in this game. Los Gallos Blancos have been looking great in the Liga MX, but do need to get their first points in the Copa MX.

Manager Victor Manuel Vucetich used a squad comprised of mostly youngsters with experienced players like Clifford Aboagye and Enrique Triverio in the mix. Queretaro has a tough away game against Juarez on the weekend and will need to rest key players for this match.

Angel Sepulveda

Sepulveda has been one of Oscar Pareja’s first options off the bench in league play and has been looking solid with a goal off the bench so far. The Mexican forward has good movement and decent speed that makes him a dangerous forward and a reliable option for a game like this.

Jordi Cortizo

The Mexican midfielder has been a reliable midfielder off the bench for Queretaro for a few seasons now. Cortizo has good vision and passing abilities that make him dangerous on the attack and is also a very hard-working player that will run for the entire 90 minutes.

Prediction

EVT predicts a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Corregidora between Club Tijuana and Queretaro as this will be a very hard-fought match.
