Miguel Herrera has done his best to fill the void left by Dayro Moreno by signing six players for this Clausura 2017 tournament.

The latest addition to this core of additions was announced today, in Argentine midfielder, Matias Pisano.

The Xolos have had a history of signing players from South America, Argentina in particular.

Pisano will be the third Argentinian player Miguel Herrera brings to Tijuana this season, with Juan Martin Lucero and Jorge Alberto Ortiz accompanying him.

The 25-year-old will also be the eighth Argentine to form part of Miguel Herrera’s squad for this season.

Matias Pisano began his trajectory in his homeland with Chacarita juniors in 2008. After spending a few years with the second division side, Pisano transferred over to a big club in Independiente of the top league in Argentina.

The midfielder would have 69 appearances with Independiente from 2013-2015. Matias was then sold to Brazilian club, Cruziero in 2016. Most recently, Pisano resided with Brazilian side, Santa Cruz, out on loan from Cruziero.

The 5-foot-5 mid-fielder will bring more attacking options for this Tijuana Xolos side. His short stature, rapid pace, and above average passing ability make him comparable to Tijuana’s current Argentine midfielder, Victor Ignacio Malcorra. Pisano should be key in creating spaces for the Xolos and allowing Players like Aviles Hurtado and Milton Carglio to find scoring opportunities.
