The Tijuana Xolos played to a 3-0 win against Veracruz this past Friday, Feb. 15, at the Estadio Caliente.

The encounter was a dominant display by the Aztec Canines as the offense was specifically impressive in the clash.

Miller Bolanos scored his third goal in Club Tijuana’s last three league games and Daniel Lopez was also able to score his first-ever Liga MX goal. Since the additions of Gustavo Bou and Ariel Nahuelpan, the Xoloitzcuintles offense has really come along nicely and Oscar Pareja expressed his pleasure with the attackers in his post-game news conference on Friday night.

Pareja said, “We are happy that our strikers are beginning to find the net. That is what gives you confidence. Miller (Bolanos), Bou and Danny’s (Lopez) presence on the pitch gives us a lot of confidence. We hope it also happens with Ariel (Nahuelpan). He’s been in scoring positions  more often and that is a positive thing.”

Fabian Castillo, Gustavo Bou and Miller Bolanos have combined for six goals scored this season, while Ariel Nahuelpan is yet to find the back of the net. However, Nahuelpan’s presence has made a phenomenal impact on the offense and has really helped gel everything together.

It will also be interesting to see how 18-year-old striker Daniel Lopez plays into the team going forward as well as young winger Jesus Angulo.

Fabian Castillo was injured early in the encounter against Veracruz and there are currently no further updates on his health. Castillo certainly adds a different dynamic to the attack with his flair and speed and will be missed by Oscar Pareja if he is out.
