The Peoria Javelinas returned to action on Monday after having the weekend off. In the afternoon at Peoria Stadium, the Javelinas battled back from a 4-0 deficit to win a blowout 13-4 against the Salt River Rafters.

The team enjoyed an eight-run fifth inning and a five-run seventh to seal the deal for Peoria, improving their record to 3-2 on the year.

Unfortunately, there was not much else in the other leagues around the globe for Padres minor leaguers.

Here is a recap of the day’s action throughout all the leagues:

Arizona Fall League

Hansel Rodriguez– (Win) 1 IP, 1 BB (18 pitches/9 strikes)

Right-handed reliever Hansel Rodriguez picked up the win on Monday after pitching a scoreless inning. Rodriguez started out the season on the shelf with an arm issue, but looks to be fully healthy now and is producing this winter.

Hudson Potts– (2-5) Run, 3 RBI, K

The Padres are pleasantly surprised with the growth from this infielder. He is starting to really turn it on with the bat. Potts has the ability to square up the baseball constantly, but can still get a little long with his swing from time to time. This time in Peoria could be huge for Potts.

Mexican Winter League

No scheduled games on Monday

Dominican Winter League

Esteury Ruiz– (2-4) Run, K

Ruiz started at second base for the Toros del Este on Monday and went 2-for-4 on the night. He has a very high ceiling and is getting some valuable experience in the D.R. Expect to see Ruiz get plenty of at-bats in his home country as he prepares for a full season next year in either Fort Wayne or Lake Elsinore.

Venezuelan Winter League

No Padres minor leaguers in action
