It took a little time to put this together, although we have been in contact with each since their respective lists dropped, but here is a breakdown of the Padres’ top 100 prospects from the two leading sources themselves.

MLB pipeline and Baseball America do an excellent job of covering the minors. Their coverage is second to none.

For this podcast we speak to both Jonathan Mayo and Kyle Glaser about the current state of the San Diego Padres and spoke specifically about each man on their respective lists.

Kyle was first as we asked him first about Anderson Espinoza and the fact he was not on the BA list. He explains the reasoning behind the decision.

We then move on to Adrian Morejon, who Kyle is not entirely sold on as a potential top-of-the-order starter.

Each on the BA list is discussed in-depth and we even hit on some of the prospects that might make the list one year from now.

In speaking to Jonathan, we asked about Espinoza and the fact he made the cut for MLB as the #89 prospect.

Moving up their list, we hit on each player as Jonathan gives his two cents on the Padres’ minors.

Mackenzie Gore and Fernando Tatis Jr. provide a formidable duo at the top of these lists. It is excellent hearing that each player is deserving of the high praise they are already earning. The farm system is flourishing for the San Diego Padres.

Thank you to both Kyle and Jonathan for coming on the show. It is vital to get information from outside sources when evaluating Padre’ prospects.

Thank you for the listen.

  1. Great listen as usual. Have you made any headway on getting Mike Rosenbaum to share his thoughts on the Padres farm system. With him being the guy at MLB.com who actual “covers” the Padres system, hearing about some of the hidden gems this system has would be nice. Rosenbaum! Rosenbaum! Rosenbaum! (think Seinfeld)
