The hot stove is heating up and we though it would be nice to talk to national writer Scott Miller.
Scott is all over the recent happenings in all of MLB and he graciously returns to our show to talk some Padre baseball.
Shohei Ohtani is dominating the headlines and we ask Scott about his thoughts on the young man.
He tells us a little more about Ohtani as we discuss whether or not the Padres are serious contenders for his services.
We move in to some Eric Hosmer talk. Scott tells us his feelings on the rumors of Hosmer to the Padres. We all agree that the money would be a huge burden for this team and that could very well be the deciding factor.
We discuss the shortstop hole the Padres currently have and talk about some options. Zack Cozart is a name that has been linked to the team. Scott gives us his thoughts on Cozart and whether he can keep up his offensive abilities moving forward.
Scott had a prior commitment, so we had about half the time we planned for. He will return after the Winter Meetings as we will surely have plenty to talk about then.
The closing of the pod entailed the two of us discussion the 40-man roster and possible moves.
The Padres have plenty of options and we will just have to wait and see what they do.
Thank you for the listen and let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
