Trevor Hoffman is in the news as voting is starting to trickle in for the 2018 MLB Hall of Fame.
We weigh in on the topic and discuss the possibility of him finally making it into the club.
Shohei Otani rumors are starting to heat up. The “Japanese Babe Ruth” is set to join MLB in 2018 as he will be posted in the next 5-14 days. Once he hits the open market, there is sure to be a connection to the Padres. We discuss if it is possible for the Friars to land him and also talk about the questionnaire he sent to all 30 major league teams.
Kyle Lloyd was recently DFA’d by the team, but he cleared waivers and will return to El Paso. Really nothing to see here.
The Baseball America Top-10 list dropped this morning and we talk about it. Gabriel Arias was a surprise addition to the list as the number 10-ranked prospect. The others on the list were pretty much on par, but the inclusion of Arias was a bit unique. Kyle Glaser will be on later this week to discuss the list. Be sure to keep an eye out for that.
We go through some quick topics at the end like the 2018 free agent class, Gleyber Torres, and some left field and third base options down the road for the Padres.
