In this episode, we planned to discuss the state of the San Diego Padres.

We started out that way, but the conversation quickly turned into talk about the minor league system. Pedro Avila had a great start on Tuesday night and we talk about the right-handed pitcher that was obtained for Derek Norris prior to the 2017 season. I mean, hey- the minor league system for the Padres is on the rise and the player within it are very fun to talk about.

The topic of Avila turned into talk of Michel Baez, and we compared the two pitchers. There are some huge differences between the two pitching prospects.

*WARNING— Wil Myers was heavily discussed in this podcast. We speak about his issues and the fact the slugger has still not put it together in 2017. He seems lost at the plate from time to time and Patrick gives his take on how to fix the first baseman’s swing. Perhaps a larger leg kick would help him? Who knows.

Jose Pirela is a man on a mission as we talk about the Dominican infielder/outfielder. At 27, he has grown tired of riding the buses in the minor leagues and seems hell-bent on staying in the major leagues. He has come out of nowhere to be the Padres’ best offensive weapon.

Carlos Asuaje was thrown some love, as both Patrick and I are big fans of his style of play.

There is plenty of lighthearted moment in this cast as it was recorded late night. Enjoy. Barry Bloom shouldn’t listen to the end of this podcast. Haha!
