This week’s show opens with some Pablo Sandoval talk. Ugh.

The switch-hitting third baseman has been released by the Red Sox, and some would like the Padres to take a look at Kung-Fu Panda. Ultimately, we believe, he is not a good fit for this young team and we discuss the numerous reasons why he should not come close to Petco Park.

Hunter Renfroe went on the D.L. with a neck injury, so the Jabari Blash show is back. We speak about the slugging outfielder and what to expect from him.

The first half is in the books and there is plenty to be positive about. We speak about the progression of this young team and highlight some things to look forward to in the second half of the 2017 season.

The trade deadline is close and the Padres are surely going to be active.

We discuss some options for the team, and of course Brad Hand will be dealt. We all know that. We talk about a possible return for Hand, and what fans should expect for the left-handed reliever. There are other trade options for the team. Brandon Maurer and Ryan Buchter could be dealt as well. July could be a very interesting month for Friars fans.

The “Tank” talk has died down a bit in recent weeks due to the Padres improved play. Is the team too far ahead of the Phillies to earn the #1 pick in the 2018 draft? I guess we will have to wait and see, but we discuss the possibility of the team losing most of their ‘pen and how that could be a factor down the stretch.

Fernando Tatis Jr. and Michel Baez found their way into the show, as each has vaulted their rankings in recent weeks. Baez, in particular, has come out of seemingly nowhere to be a legit top-20 prospect for the Friars.

In closing, we discuss second half story lines for this team. There is still much to watch in the next few months.
