The East Village Times Podcast is back.

We made it. 100 shows in the books. In this 100th episode we bring you absolutely nothing special. Just the two of us speaking about the first half for the Padres.

The team is in dead last currently. They have the worse record in all of the National League. Times are tough, but as a Padre fan, it is just a typical season.

The two of us talk a little bit about Jose Pirela. The conversation about him led to some discussion about Andy Green and the fact that some fans are upset with him. We talk a bit about if he deserves to be on the hot seat at all. The Pirela situation really led to this discussion.

Eric Hosmer has been in a terrible slump. We analyze some of the stats and they are not good. His negative launch angle and career high strikeout percentage is something to really be concerned about moving forward. He is also swinging at pitches that are not strikes at an alarming rate.

Christian Villanueva is an enigma. We look at his numbers which are incredible against left-handed pitchers. The numbers against right handed pitchers is what is very concerning as we discuss if Villanueva is the Padres third base option moving forward.

We could not make it a show without talking about some of the prospects in the system. After all, that is where the future is and some have certainly been performing.

The Padres are reportedly talking about going to brown uniforms full time. We discuss that for a bit in the end of the pod.

Sorry about the long hiatus. We are really trying to become more regimented, but it is difficult.

Thank you for the listen and we sincerely appreciate the support.
