Amarillo Sod Poodles (13-20) Lost 2-1 in Corpus Christi

The Soddies struck out 19 times and left ten runners on base in a game they should have won. The Hooks crossed the winning run with one out in the tenth for the 2-1 victory. Each member of the Sod Poodles’ starting lineup stranded a runner and every batter struck out in the game except for Kyle Overstreet who walked twice. Hudson Potts struck out four times. Edward Olivares struck out three times, as did Brad Zunica and Ivan Castillo. Not a good night with the sticks for Amarillo. Miguel Diaz made a start and looked solid in three-plus innings. His knee injury looks like a thing of the past. Diaz is holding a 1.35 ERA in the Texas League so far. Travis Radke got the tough loss, despite pitching 2.1 innings of unearned ball. The lefty struck out four and has recorded a 1.29 ERA since being promoted from Lake Elsinore a few weeks ago.

He was relieved by Jordan Guerrero and Hansel Rodriguez. Both relief pitchers allowed multiple earned runs. The Giants ended up winning the contest 8-0, as Lake Elsinore simply did not swing the bat well.
