Dinelson Lamet’s fourth rehab start was at Triple-A El Paso on Sunday night. He threw five innings, giving up four runs. With his 2-for-3 today, Owen Miller moved his average in June to .368 for the Soddies. In Rancho Cucamonga, Elliot Ashbeck struck out 15 in seven innings of work for the Storm.

The minor league affiliates went a perfect 5-0 on Sunday.

El Paso Chihuahuas Won 10-7 (43-26 on the season)

Luis Urias and Jose Pirela each homered and knocked in three runs as El Paso snapped a three-game losing streak. Ty France did not homer for the six straight night but did have a hit and walk to push his OBP to unbelievable .505 in 121 plate appearances. Paco Rodriguez continued his quality pitching, closing the game out with three scoreless innings to get the win. The rehabbing Dinelson Lamet started and gave up four earned runs w/two home runs allowed in five innings of work.

Amarillo Sod Poodles Won 2-1 (33-34 on the season)

Taylor Kohlwey’s 9th inning infield walk-off single broke a 1-1 tie as the Soddies won 2-1. The Sod Poodles got great pitching tonight from Jesse Scholtens, Dauris Valdez, and Michel Baez. Scholtens gave up a run in the first and then closed the door, handing the ball to Dauris Valdez and Michel Baez who closed it with three scoreless frames. Valdez has only allowed three earned runs over last ten appearances (12+ innings), and Baez has been even better, allowing two earned runs over the same span (12 innings).

Lake Elsinore Storm Won 11-5 (35-33 on the season)

Esteury Ruiz had three hits and scored three runs, and Gabriel Arias went 2-for-4 and knocked in four runs, as the Storm won 11-5 in Rancho Cucamonga. Elliot Ashbeck struck out 15 and only allowed three hits, and one earned run over six frames. The Storm knocked out 13 hits in the game, led by Esteury Ruiz who has his OPS up to .754 on the year. Steven Wilson has a 0.93 ERA in 2019 after pitching a scoreless eighth inning for the Storm.

The TinCaps got back to their recent winning ways with a walk-off 4-3 win. Gabe Mosser and five pitchers combined to allow only one earned run in the game. Mosser fanned six batters in four scoreless innings in the start. Austin Smith had a blown save in the 9th, coughing up a 3-0 lead. One of his three runs allowed were earned. Tucupita Marcano singled in the home half of the ninth to plate Hosea Nelson for the walk-off.

Tri-City Dust Devils Won 6-2 (1-2 on the season)

Tri-City got its first win of the season, in come back fashion besting Everett 6-2. 19-year-old shortstop Jordy Barley hit a three-run blast in the 7th inning to push the Dust Devils to a 4-2 lead. Nick Gatewood continued his hot start with an RBI single in the 8th to seal it for Tri-City. Felix Minjarez pitched five quality innings allowing only two runs on five hits. He struck out six without walking anyone in the game.
