The Padres’ minor league affiliates were 0-4 on Monday.

Here’s a recap of the day’s action:

El Paso Chihuahuas (41-23) Lost 5-3

Considering how well the team has hit in most games this season, the eight hits by the Chihuahuas on Monday were rather disappointing. They were offensively led by Jose Pirela, who went 3-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Ty France also played well, with an RBI of his own. It was a tough outing for Logan Allen on the mound for El Paso, as he surrendered five runs, four of which were earned, in 5.1 innings. It was a rather low scoring affair considering how many runs are typically scored in Pacific Coast League contests, and the Chihuahuas offense just wasn’t good enough.

Jose Pirela: 3-3, 2 Runs, 2 RBI

Ty France: 1-3, Run, BB, RBI

Logan Allen: 5.1 IP, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 Ks (76 Pitches – 57 Strikes)

Lake Elsinore Storm (32-30) Lost 2-0

In a game that saw the Storm only manage one hit and one walk, it was understandably tough to win for Lake Elsinore. The lone hit belonged to Jeisson Rosario, with Connor Panas picking up the only walk for the team. Taking the ball for the Storm was Dinelson Lamet, who threw four innings without allowing a run. He struck out five and only walked one while giving up three hits in the loss. Another rehabbing pitcher in Jose Castillo gave up the only two runs scored by Lancaster, striking out one batter in his outing. Overall this was a game that saw the pitching largely do a very good job, but the offense just couldn’t muster enough to back them up in the loss.

Jeisson Rosario: 1-3

Connor Panas: 0-1, BB

Dinelson Lamet: 4 IP, 3 H, O R, BB, 5 Ks (56 Pitches – 36 Strikes)

Jose Castillo: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, K (18 Pitches – 12 Strikes)

Fort Wayne TinCaps (28-34) Lost 3-2

Gabe Mosser took the ball for the TinCaps in their Monday game versus Dayton, tossing 5.2 innings of three-run ball while striking out seven hitters. He didn’t walk a single hitter, which was certainly a positive takeaway from the start for the 27th rounder out of Shippensburg. Although his ERA increased following the start, it was yet another strong outing for the 22-year-old. The key offensive performers in the game were Blake Hunt, Michael Curry, and Luis Roman. Hunt and Curry each knocked in a run, while Roman had two hits in the loss. This was yet another game in the Padres’ organization today that saw the team’s pitching do well, and have an offense that couldn’t back them up.

Gabe Mosser: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 Ks (89 Pitches – 60 Strikes)

Blake Hunt: 1-4, RBI

Michael Curry: 1-4, Run, RBI

Luis Roman: 2-4

DSL Padres (4-4) Lost 6-5

The DSP Padres squad lost to the DSL Reds in the morning by the score of 6-5 as the team could not come back from an early 5-1 deficit. The Padres’ youngsters scored two in the ninth but were unable to plate the tieing run in the game. The team only managed eight hits on the day and struck out 12 times. Albert Fabian hit his first homer of the season. The 17-year-old left-handed hitter is a decent prospect within the system. He was Dh’ing on Monday but is normally a third baseman. Wilfredo Tovar, a 17-year-old Venezuelan catcher, went 3-for-3 in the game. 21-year-old left-handed pitcher Jose Garcia started and went four innings. Jesus Lugo, a 21-year-old right-handed pitcher, went three innings and lowered his ERA to 1.50 on the year.

Carlos Vergara– (1-3) 2B, RBI, K

Albert Fabian- (1-3) HR, RBI, 2 Run, BB, 2 K

Charlis Aquino– (2-5) 2B, Run, RBI, K

Wilfredo Tovar- (3-3) Run, BB, CS

Jose Garcia- 4 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, BB, 2 K
