San Diego Padres affiliates went 2-3 on Thursday.

Here is a recap of the day’s events.

El Paso Chihuahuas (79-57) Lost 6-3

The Chihuahuas lots 6-3 on Thursday to the Salt Lake Bees. Bryan Mitchell made a start and went 5 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and two runs. He has a 9.41 ERA on the season now. Gerardo Reyes was torched for four earned runs without retiring a batter. Offensively, the team recorded 13 hits in the game. Travis Jankowski went 4-for-4 in the loss and has a .754 OPS now on the season in the PCL. Michael Gettys went 3-for-4 with a double, and Matthew Batten recorded two hits out of the 9th spot in the order.

Amarillo Sod Poodles (70-64) Lost 14-9

The Sod Poodles lost 14-9 at home against the Tulsa Drillers. Kyle Lloyd was beaten up for nine earned runs and ten hits in seven innings for Amarillo. He threw 94 pitches in the game, and his ERA rose to 4.34 on the season. Nick Kuzia allowed five earned runs in his lone inning of relief. Infielder Ruddy Giron pitched a scoreless inning and struck out two in the game. The Soddies managed 17 hits in the game and went 8-for-20 with runners in scoring position. Luis Torrens slugged his 14th homer of the season in the loss. He has a .859 OPS so far this year in the Texas League. Buddy Reed, Ivan Castillo, and Owen Miller went 3-for-5 each, and Edward Olivares had a 2-for-5 night at the plate.

Lake Elsinore Storm (70-64) Lost 7-5

The Storm lost 7-5 in Rancho Cucamonga against the Quakes. Garrett Richards started the game and went 1 2/3 innings, allowing four earned runs. He was wild on the day walking four in the contest. Caleb Boushley relieved him and went the rest of the way throwing 6 1/3 innings. Lake Elsinore rallied for two runs in the 9th but was unable to get any closer in the game. Xavier Edwards went 3-for-5 in the win with a double and three runs scored. He also stole his 12th base of the year in the Cal League. Jeisson Rosario went 3-for-4, and he is now hitting .313 (10-for-32) in his last ten games played. Lake Elsinore went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position on the night.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (61-73) Won 9-4

The TinCaps won 9-4 over the South Bend Cubs on Thursday. 18-year-old Jesus Gonzalez started the game and went five innings in his Midwest League debut. The left-handed pitcher allowed only two hits and a walk resulting in one earned run. He has a 1.80 ERA in his one start for the TinCaps. Gonzalez was 4-3 with a 5.20 ERA pitching for the AZL Padres this summer. Franklin Van Gurp allowed two earned runs in three innings pitched. He struck out three and has a 3.29 ERA so far this year. Dwanya Williams-Sutton smacked two homers in the win as the 22-year-old now has eight on the season to go with a .777 OPS. The power is in his bat and is slowly coming along. Williams-Sutton is an interesting prospect with a decent ceiling. 2019 draft pick Chris Givin continues to hit well going 2-for-4 on Thursday. He is hitting .309 this season overall between Fort Wayne and the AZL.

Tri-City Dust Devils (35-37) Won 13-12

The Dust Devils won 13-12 in 11 innings against the Vancouver Canadians. Tri-City got one in the 11th and held off Vancouver, as Sam Keating earned the save for the team. He pitched a 1-2-3 11th, striking out one batter. Chris Lincoln earned the win in relief pitching two innings. Eight different Tri-City pitchers threw in the game. Offensively, the team managed 13 hits and were 8-for-25 with runners in scoring position. Tre Carter went 3-f0r-4 in the game as he came in to replace Mason House early. Jonny Homza tripled and doubled in the win, and Jack Stronach went 2-for-5.
