The San Diego Padres farm system is not as deep as it was in the past.

A.J. Preller and his staff utilized their depth over the past few seasons to upgrade the major league roster via trade. The Padres farm system was the highest-ranked in the majors a few years ago, but time has taken some luster off the talent pool.

But do not fret Padres fans.

Preller is hard at work, and the grouping of prospects is definitely on the upswing. The Padres will have more depth to trade, and some of these men may actually help the major league team real soon.

There is some uncertainty with international prospects, but the Padres have had some success in the past few seasons. Fernando Tatis Jr. and Juan Soto are only a few of several men who came to the major leagues through this route. In time, perhaps someone on this list can achieve the level of success they have.

Not a whole lot is known about the men on this list.

Ethan Salas comes with the most hype, as the left-handed hitting catcher was considered one of the best prospects available.

Here is a look at the other men who were signed on January 15 and what positions they play. As more information is gathered on each player, we will pass along the knowledge. Enjoy.
