The San Diego Padres had nine players in action on Friday.

In Peoria, the Javelinas lost 11-5 at the hands of the Surprise Saguaros and now possess a record of 14-11 so far this season. Despite the loss, Peoria is maintaining their three game over Surprise and the Glendale Desert Dogs in the AFL West Division.

The Australian Baseball League will start next week on the 16th, as the Canberra Cavalry will battle the Brisbane Bandits. Lake Bachar, Gabriel Arias, Buddy Reed and Felipe Blanco will all be on the roster for the Canberra team. Look for updates on these young men next week as they get their first action in the league.

Tatis, Cordero and company played on Friday as well. Here as an update on all the Padres prospects.

PEORIA JAVELINAS

Javier Guerra was 0-5 with two strikeouts, as the young infielder got the start at short for the Javelinas. Guerra is now hitting .250 on the year in limited time in the AFL.

Josh Naylor was 1-4 with a strikeout, as his average is at .293 for the season. He has been playing excellent defense and driving the ball so far in the winter league.

MEXICAN/VENEZUELAN/DOMINICAN WINTER LEAGUES

Rafael Ortega walked four times and was o-2 with three runs scored. The center fielder is batting .275 on the year and been getting on base almost every night.

Franchy Cordero was 2-3 with a run scored and a caught stealing. The speedy outfielder is hitting .291 for his Dominican team.

Luis Torrens got in another game on Friday and went 1-5 with a solo homer and two strikeouts. He has received many at bats this season and is hitting .267 for his Venezuelan team.

Fernando Tatis Jr. was 0-4 on Friday with three strikeouts and he also committed an error. Tatis is hitting .246 on the year for his DR team.

Fernando Perez got another extra base hit tonight as he went 1-4 with a double and a run. He also struck out once. The infielder is hitting .356 on the year.

Eric Yardley has been money all year and he continued his great season as he went a scoreless inning on Friday only allowing two hits. His ERA is at 0.61 for the year.

Gerardo Reyes went one inning without allowing a run or a hit and lowered his ERA to 3.68 in the Mexican winter leagues.
