San Diego Padres’ affiliates were 2-2 on Wednesday.

Here is a recap of the day’s action:

El Paso Chihuahuas (23-24) Lost 5-4

The Chihuahuas lost their first game in Tacoma on Wednesday, after winning the first two of a four-game series. El Paso rallied with two outs in the ninth as Shane Peterson singled to center. Auston Bousfield followed with a single to left and Luis Urias doubled to left to score Peterson. With two men on, Brett Kennedy flew out to right to end the game. Jesse Scholtens was knocked around in the fourth inning, giving up four earned runs. Colten Brewer came in to relieve him and went 2.1 innings pitched, allowing one earned run. Hunter Renfroe powered two home runs over the fence and Luis Urias went 3-for-5, raising his average to .290 on the year in the PCL.

San Antonio Missions (29-17)  Won 4-3

The Missions continues their winning ways as they beat the Drillers 4-3 on Wednesday. Cal Quantrill was on the mound, and the victim of some bad defense in the first inning. River Stevens and Fernando Tatis made back-to-back errors with two outs in the first to put the Missions in the hole 2-0. The team responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first. Quantrill was cruising until a home run off the bat of Peter O’Brien chased him in the 6th inning. Michael Gettys had a great night at the plate and Brad Wieck pitched a perfect ninth for the save.

Lake Elsinore Storm (21-25) Won 4-1

Michel Baez was on the mound for the Storm on Wednesday night and he looked much better. The velocity was still not 98, but he did hit his spots and was productive for Lake Elsinore. Brad Zunica got the offense going for the Storm as he hit solo home run in the 3rd inning. Big right-hander Dauris Valdez earned his fourth save of the year as he pitched a scoreless ninth. The Storm only managed six hits on the night and all of them came from the bottom three in the order. The top six went a combined 0-for-20 with six strikeouts.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (20-25) Lost 2-1

The youth of the TinCaps continues to put up a fight, but it’s a tough battle for the teenagers. Aaron Leasher pitched well in the game, only allowing one earned run in six innings pitched, but he earned the loss simply because the TinCaps couldn’t score. 12 strikeouts from the hitters is not going to cut it. Robbie Podorsky, Luis Almanzar, and Justin Lopez had two hits a piece, but Fort Wayne could not formulate a rally.
