Oakland Roots is coming in off of a 1-1 draw with California United Strikers FC in a match that was played on Wednesday, September 25. For 1904, it has been two weeks since the club’s inaugural victory over Cal United at SDCCU Stadium.

The San Diego club must be eager to compete again after two weeks of preparation for their upcoming match on Saturday. In their last contest on September 14th, San Diego triumphed with two goals from Lorenzo Ramirez Jr. and one from Billy Garton. Here is a game recap if you missed it.

1904 FC is currently in 5th place in the National Independent Soccer Association’s Showcase. With three goals scored and three goals scored against the team in just two matches, San Diego is just behind Cal United. The Oakland Roots have also played two matches where they have scored a total of four goals and gave up four goals. They are currently in last place in the seven-team league.

With the new league still in its opening weeks, there are still a lot of opportunities for players to make a substantial impact on NISA’s leaderboards. 1904’s Lorenzo Ramirez Jr. will try to keep the momentum going from his two-goal performance in the club’s first home match.

1904’s manager Alex Gotran thanked the fans for their presence after the squads first win “The first victory was to play in this stadium, the second came tonight with our win… I want to thank the fans for their support and belief in the team and the brand. I hope (the fans are excited) and come back to our next games.” Gotran will lead San Diego’s club on the field this Saturday, September 28 where his squad will strive to earn their second win in NISA’s young season.
