We are back with another solo show as we delve into the latest in Padres news.

The team has collectively played better in recent weeks, but the Padres still stand in firm position for a top selection in the June 2018 draft.

Patrick and I discuss the play of the team recently, as we converse about the future for the 2017 Padres.

Jarred Cosart, and his abilities, are something we hit on immediately. Can he stay in the rotation, or is he the odd man out? He can be a bit of an enigma, so we discuss the right-handed pitcher’s future in a Padre uniform. This leads to a brief conversation about Dinleson Lamet.

The epic conversation/debate of Wil Myers and Trea Turner has sadly been resurrected from the dead. The whole topic makes me nauseated, so we thankfully did not talk about it for too long. Though, the conversation did turn into some debate about Wil Myers and his lackluster 2017 season.

Franchy Cordero has been impressive and we talk briefly about his future, as well as the future of the left-field position in general.  Manuel Margot should be back soon, so where does Franchy fit in for the rest of the season?

Michael Gettys had a monster week in Lake Elsinore and we talk about the outfielder for a bit. Now is your chance to see him before he heads east to Texas to further his development.

We close out by speaking about Carlos Asuaje, the Padres’ minor league pitching staff, and Cory Spangenberg. There is always much to discuss when speaking about the Padres’ team. A.J. Preller is surely going to make some moves and adjustments to the roster. We will just have to wait and see what those changes are.

We have officially taken on a sponsor for the podcast and Original Grain Watches has graciously begun a relationship with EVT and our show. This has been a long time coming, and we are excited for the growth of not only the site, but for the growth of this locally owned and operated business. Check out their site at OriginalGrain.com.
